I have absolutely nothing to do. Oh, wait, no, thats not true. I have a report to write. It will take me a whole ten minutes to write, so really, I have nothing to do.

6:54pm and counting, my shift here finishes at 8pm.

For those of you that haven't had the decadent pleasure of meeting me, and don't know anything about me or what I do, I'm 20 years old, female, and work for a credit union in the loans area. Thats female, 20yrs old, single, and working, on a friday night. Woe is me.

I work in our call centre (awesome :\) and it's not as bad as you would imagine. I get to sit at the computer all day, (not surfing the internet, according to management) and answer the phone all day. Oh and we have a vending machine where I can buy as much Turkish Delight chocolate as I please. Now who wouldn't love my job?

It's not a bad job, it gets really busy and its a bit high stress (you know, dealing with everyone's money, and getting to decide if they are allowed to have any more or not) as there's so much work to do and we only have about 11 people in my team at the moment. The call volumes aren't too bad, but I take about 50-60 calls a day which is up to about 10 calls an hour. Now, that doesn't sound like much, but it takes 20 minutes or so to do a loan application for someone, so if I do two applications in an hour, that leaves about 20minutes to take the other eight calls. Fun times.

Mostly we have stupid people call up. You know, the ones that won't go into the branch because they think the staff will be able to see by the look in their eyes that they are trying to pull a dodgy on us? Yeah, those people.

It's amusing. It used to stress me out, but it doesn't faze me any more. You just be nice to them, smile and say thank you and hang up and laugh. I mean, some people have NFI (no fkn idea for those not down with the TLA's (three letter acronyms)) when it comes to money and loans.

Take this guy for example:

Has been working at his new job for exactly one week. I mean, he even has a payslip, thats a good thing right??

Previous to this new FULL TIME job he was unemployed for 6months. 6 months! That's not long at all.

Previous to being an unemployed bum, he was the director of his own company for 2 years. Well that's nice, but we want to know what you're doing Today. Not two and a half years ago.

Turns out his business went under due to financial difficulties. Did I put emphasis on financial difficulties? Yes, yes I think I did.

He currently has a chequing account with us, a credit card, and a Personal Loan. These were taken out before his business went under. That's nice. You're a Member with our credit union. That's sure to give you brownie points.

Oh, wait.... That's right, his chequing account is overdrawn by $23.90. And his credit card is $53.45 over its limit. And his personal loan payment is 4 days late. I'm sorry, was that brownie points you wanted?

Oh, but they are the only debts he has currently. Everything else has been paid off.

Looking at his account, I notice a direct debit for a collections agency, a Bpay to a credit card, a Bpay to a rental equipment store, a Bpay to a well known finance company, and another miscellanous regular payment. He has no other debts, remember? This must be my mistake, surely I'm looking at someone else's account. No, I'm afraid I'm not mistaken. He really told me he has no other liabilities owing. And its not like his account was with another bank where he could try to hide it from us.

And I ran a credit check for him, (you know, where we pry into your last five years worth of credit enquiries and applications) and he has no less than three defaulted payments. THREE. Yes thats three defaulted payments. A default is an unpaid account that passes three months unpaid, and the financial insti Sometimes people have one from the phone company, because they have moved and not given a forwarding address for their last bill. It usually catches up to them and they pay it. No dramas. This was one for a rental account which had been paid, late, for $355. One was for a credit card of $1200 that was on a continued contract, still being paid by this man, and the last one was a $10,000 loan that had not been paid off at all.

Oh and when I asked him at the start "Do you have any negative history that you feel we should know about?" Guess what his answer was. You dont have to guess, we already know that his answer was "No, of course not."

To top it off, not only were his accounts currently in arrears, they had been overdrawn, overlimit, and late consistently for the last 12months.

And he wanted to apply for an increase on his credit card. Of $6000.

No. Just no.

Don't call here again. Pay your gddamn account and close it.

Well, on a brighter note, I was in a good mood today, and its Friday!!! Yeah baby.
But now you know what I do at work all day (besides reading blogs). Exciting, isn't it? Aren't you glad you asked? Now all your wonderings have been put to rest. *rolls eyes*

That's enough real life information for today.

Tonight on FFXI I plan to try level ninjar with my friend Andromida, she has a lvl 25 ninja and will be up in an hour or two I think. Oh, and Crinan is ninja LV27 also. Maybe we'll try a utsusemiburn party :\ that would rock pretty hard. No, we dont need a white mage pffft.. We have ninjapower! Mwah. Please disregard all posts where I referred to ninja as a waste of time. Its actully fun. If youre not a moron. I think my anitpathy to ninjas sprouted from my many bad experiences with ninja tanks while levelling white mage. *whm dies. again* *and again* *and again. wftninja??*

I think I'm doing ok though, I havent died in a while. And Eldoras let me borrow his shiny "blue boxed" gear aka. Federation/Kingdom gear. Mmmmmmsmexy. Gogoninjato37thenputinaboxforever!

I left my character in Crinan's party in Valkurm dunes before work, he wanted to try and camp Valkurm Emperor for me :\ I told him about eight times that he didn't have to but he was adamant. But I have like Treasure Hunter -10 on all jobs, its a Alsha-specific Trait. So I'll have to think of some way to pay him back for wasting 10 hours on my nonexistent Empress pin. Unless... I have an empress pin in my inventory when I get home. Then i'll be his slave for a week. What's that? You want a teleport? Yes of course! It's only 4.36am and I have to work in a few hours, but anything you want is fine. *shines her empress pin*

That's all for now, time to go do something productive. Like wander through the office with no shoes on. Because I can do that after hours.
